Faith

a man seeks out his destiny,
in hope that he is meant to be,

searching for a sign of god,

a path on which the angels trod,

with signs aplenty all around,

man sees naught but sky and ground,

faith it seems is lost to most,

no sight of father, son, or ghost,

yet faith is more than what we see,

and hope means more than you or me,

for man is lost without belief,

and life will give no quick relief.

In Sea as on Land

As the tuna swim by,
and the manta ray fly,
hear the sound of the mer-maiden's wail,

When the turtle looks out,

from its shell at the spout,
of the ship with the white shredded sail,

In the eye of the shark,

there's a smile in the dark,
at the glint of the mer-maiden's tail,

As the lobster crabs scuttle,

'cross a broken glass bottle,
the weakened girl surely must fail,

The hunter now gone,

like the mer-maiden's song,
and the turtle returns to the sail.
